TRISTAN REES APPOINTED FIRST TEAM MANAGER

Guildford City Football Club are today pleased to confirm TRISTAN REES as first team manager until the end of the current season.

Tristan has acted as interim manager since the departure of Paul Barnes on 6 October. During that time the team has been unbeaten in five matches with three victories and two draws.

Tristan is born and bred in Guildford, and he lives with his family a stone’s throw from the Spectrum. He played locally for Godalming Town and Merrow; a club that he later managed. Tristan was assistant manager during Chris Balchin’s tenure as manager, and he briefly acted as caretaker before Paul Barnes’s appointment.

Tristan will be joined by KOO DUMBUYA as Head Coach. Koo who is UEFA A qualified is highly regarded in local football. He formerly was a member of the inaugural Aldershot Town squad in 1992, before successfully moving into various management and coaching roles at Cove, Farnborough, Woking, AFC Wimbledon, Hampton & Richmond, Kingstonian and Whyteleafe. CHRIS ADAMS who is currently assisting Tristan will remain in the coaching team.

In addition to these first team appointments, we are pleased that NICK AYLING will take on the management of the City’s U23 side. Nick formerly managed both City’s U18s and Westfield U23s.

Don’t forget that it’s FOOTBALL FOR A FIVER at the Spectrum this season. Tomorrow we host Balham who themselves are on a winning streak. It’s great value so come down tomorrow and support the new look City. 3pm kick-off and cashless entry is available. We even have a brand new menu at the tea hut!
