Guildford City will go into the new season led once again by manager Chris Balchin. Last season Balchin celebrated 100 matches in charge of the team but sadly it was not a season to remember both on, with Covid-19 off the pitch. Balchin hasn’t stood still in planning for a much improved campaign and here he introduces you to his management and coaching team for 2020-21.
“I’m delighted to announce my management team for this coming season. I’ll have two assistant managers this year in Tristan Rees and Nehemiah Adams. I’ve worked with Tristan a long time now and we work well together and share similar Ideas and I’m chuffed he’s with us next season. I’m also proud to say Nemo will be joining us too. He will continue to play but his wealth of knowledge of the game, this level and his love for the football club makes it a no brainer for me to get him on the management team. We have a newcomer this year as first team coach. I’d like to welcome Mark Long. Mark is someone I’ve known a number of years. He’s an aspiring coach and the boys have taken to him already. His attention to detail, planning and preparation for sessions is first class. In addition Callie Lansley will continue in her role as sports therapist. We gve Callie her first job in football and she’s worked incredibly hard sitting exam after exam. She’s been approached by a number of clubs recently but has been loyal to us and I thank her for that.”
“We all hope you are keeping safe during COVID-19. We can’t wait to start when it’s safe to do so. There’s a buzz off the field at the moment and our job will be to transfer that buzz onto the football pitch.”
