BIOGRAPHY
Robinson commenced his career at Luton Town but failed to cement a place in the starting line-up. Brief stays at Bournemouth, Derby County and Mansfield Town followed. In 1934 Robinson joined City from Clapton Orient and quickly impressing he was ever present in his first season. The following year he was appointed club captain; a role he was to retain until the onset of WW2. In 1937/38 he skippered the side to their first Southern League championship, a feat they came within a point of repeating the following year. The war years were spent fighting with the Desert Rats and not his Guildford City colleagues with whom he never played again. He did however return to the club in the form of the steward for the City social club.
