Ian Plested caught up with first team manager Pete Ruggles after our 3-1 defeat away to Jersey Bulls. An early set back for City came when the home side struck in the 4th minute. On a hot day, which saw plenty of water breaks, City could have diminished but they got themselves back into the game in the 45th minute with right back Ashley Hitchinson scoring his first goal for the club. In the second half Jersey came on strong, scoring in the 65th minute. City tried to reply but with the game nearing its end, fitness levels diminished. Jersey added one more at the end of the game with a wonder strike. A defeat for our opening league game but the City boys did the fans back on the mainland proud.
