Arundel Football Club was established in 1889 and is one of the oldest clubs in the area. The club became founder members of the West Sussex Football League in 1896 before joining the Sussex County League in 1949.
Arundel enjoyed considerable success in the following decades, winning the Sussex County League Division One title in 1957-58 and retaining it the following season, before adding a third title in 1986-87, when they also won the league’s Challenge Cup.
The club won the Challenge Cup again in 2003-04 and finished as Division One runners-up in 2008-09. The league was renamed the Southern Combination Football League in 2015, and after relegation from the Premier Division in 2018-19, Arundel have competed in Division One. Known as the ‘Mullets’, the club plays its home matches at Mill Road, close to the River Arun and Arundel Castle.
This season Arundel and City are neck and neck in the league table with goal difference putting City in 7th place and Arundel in 8th. Arundel’s record so far is played 10, won 4, drawn 2 and lost 4.
