A Bright Start For Guildford City Women

A New Era of Women's Football in Guildford has begun!

On Saturday the 6th and Sunday the 13th of June manager Benson Miyoba and his coaches held their first open training sessions for our newly launched Guildford City Women FC. In the long awaited summer sunshine the players were put through their paces as the coaching staff look to build a competitive team for the start of the Women’s league in September. We will be starting our journey at tier 7 of the Women’s football pyramid in the newly formed Surrey Women’s League.

Benson Miyoba has put together a strong group of coaches that will give the players the best chance at being a success on the pitch, as well as assistant manager Chanelle DeSouza, Frankie Paul joins as first team coach, Jess Van Donink as assistant coach and Jamie Wilkinson as strength & conditioning coach. Speaking on the first two open training sessions coach Frankie Paul said “Our first meeting as a team was really exciting. I could feel the energy from the rest of the coaches and the manager had done a great job of pulling us all together.” Frankie continued by saying “We all looked professional and the trialists looked ready to impress from the get-go! I feel like it’s a really exciting time to be a part of this group and Guildford City, I cant wait for this journey to continue.”
