On Sunday the Guildford City committee received the very sad news that Tracey Wallis, our Youth team secretary, had passed away suddenly after a very short illness. Tracey was very popular with her colleagues in the Junior section and with the officials and players in the Youth team. Her untimely loss was a terrible shock to her friends and everybody who knew her. In particular we send our most sincere condolences to Ryan and all of Tracey’s family, and to Nikki Simmonds and the Junior section committee. Tracey has done much to strengthen the links between Guildford City Boys & Girls FC and ourselves in recent times, and she firmly believed that the young footballers of Guildford deserved a strong senior club to which they could aspire.
Understandably the Youth team has postponed its match at Godalming this evening, and the Junior section will be holding a minutes applause in remembrance of Tracey at their clubhouse in Stoughton Rec each training evening this week. Similarly Guildford City FC will be holding a minutes applause just prior to the kick off of our Calor League fixture against Fleet Town on Wednesday evening.
