With two months of the season remaining we find ourselves at the foot of the table, and in the midst of a desperate battle to avoid a further relegation this season. The reasons for this are several but without doubt the fallout following last season’s disastrous Southern South & West campaign hit the club badly. That said the club, although frustrated, is not daunted by its current league position. The club has an exciting future under Don and Phil, the recently appointed management team, and the Club Committee are fully confident that our exciting young team can gain enough points in the remaining games to rise up the table.
This is where we are asking for your support. Whilst every game is important we do have this month what can be considered three very important matches, including two “six-pointers”, namely on Tuesday 10 March versus Hartley Wintney (A), Saturday 14 March versus Hanworth Villa (H), and on Saturday 21 March versus Frimley Green (A). A strong and vocal City following at these matches could well make the difference in a tight encounter. Given the importance of these three matches in particular I would urge as many City supporters (current or lapsed) to put at least one of these dates in your diary and then try to attend to support our club in these crucial matches. Of course we welcome as much support as possible at all of our remaining matches and City are next in action at Raynes Park Vale on Tuesday 3 March, kick-off 7.45pm.
