Ian Plested caught up with first team manager Pete Ruggles after our 3-0 victory at home to Cobham in the CCL Cup. In what were sometimes biblical conditions it was a brilliant team performance from Ruggles’s #Sweeney tonight. Two goals, a low drive from outside the box and a brilliant looping header, from Jamie Pearce gave us a comfortable lead going into the break. In the second half the heavens opened but it didn’t seem to affect the two sides as City continued to pass the ball around with purpose and speed, creating some half chances. Cobham played their part forcing Stuart Norman into a number of great saves. Then late on a stunning late goal from substitute Ashley Hitchinson wrapped up the win and put us through to the next round of the CCL Cup!
