On Saturday we host Shoreham FC in the first round of the Buildbase FA Vase.
Due to last season’s run to the third round Guildford City has received a bye this year directly to the first round proper.
Shoreham play at step six in Division One of the Southern Combination League. They have made an excellent start top the campaign, currently sitting in second position with 27 points from 13 matches. On Saturday they lost to third place Roffey 5-3. The previous Saturday Shoreham drew 1-1 at our near neighbours Godalming Town. Shoreham have spent some years alternating between the Southern Combination’s Premier and first divisions. That is excepting a solitary season two years ago in the Isthmian League. Shoreham reached this stage of the competition by winning 2-0 at Molesey in the first qualifying round with goals from Tom Shelley and Michael Death. In the second qualifying round Shoreham won 5-1 at Meridien VP with further goals from Shelley (2), Death (2) and Danny Jones.
The match at the Spectrum kicks off at 3pm, although the ground, including the bar, will be open from 1pm. Admission is a bargain £5 for adults with £3 for concessions. Juniors are admitted free of charge. Please remember though that season tickets are not valid for this match.
If you haven’t been to the Spectrum recently come along and have a look at the ground improvements. For just £10 you can gain entry, buy our award-winning match programme, and buy a drink at the bar. There aren’t many places you can get that value. And to make the day more special everyone coming through the turnstile will receive a free copy of the club’s Centenary Handbook.
Tickets can be purchased online via Guildford City FC (thelittleboxoffice.com) or on the day at the turnstile (cash or contactless).
We look forward to seeing you!
