Ian Plested caught up with first team coach Tom Davis and centre back Jamie Pearce after our 2-1 defeat vs Abbey Rangers. City started brightly creating a couple of brilliant chances which just lacked clinical finishes but it was the visitors that scored first after a cross to the back post was cleared away from Billy Nutbeam, unfortunately into the incoming Abbey attacker and into the goal. From then the away side dominated most of the possession and in the second half scored from a brilliant curling finish from the edge of the box. After the second goal City put on the pressure, causing problems for the Abbey defence. Billy Nutbeam rattled the bar before Charlie Samuel smashed in his first goal for the club from inside the area. City continued to push but it ended a narrow defeat for the Sweeney.
