New and re-signing players added to Dean’s squad

Guildford City would like to announce the re-signing of two of last season’s younger squad members:

Bruce McPhail and Michael Woods. McPhail, made 19 appearances last year featuring in both midfield and notably at right-back.  19 year old Michael Woods broke into the first team in the last month of the season, making four appearances, and impressing with his level of performance.

Dean Thomas has also signed ex-City Youth striker Ryan Wallis who last season featured for Liskeard Athletic whilst studying at the University of Plymouth.  Wallis made a handful of City first team appearances at the tail-end of 2011-12, memorably scoring against Windsor in a promotion clash.

Making up the quartet of yesterday’s signings is another 19 year old David Unwin.  Unwin, a central defender, played for Cove FC in 2011-12, before taking a year out of football last season to concentrate on his studies.

Encouragingly all four of these signings are Guildford based players who have played all of their junior football for local clubs.
