Guildford City 5 – 0 Sevenoaks Town (FA Vase First Qualifying Round)

City marched into the second qualifying round in style with this thrashing of Sevenoaks Town.

The visitors had started the stronger and rocked the home side when a powerful drive rattled the bar. But Guildford took the lead in the 19th minute from an impressive Simon Cooper free kick and doubled it on the half hour mark when Joel Greaves beat three defenders to roll the ball home after an assist from Tony Chaplin. Sevenoaks struggled throughout the second half and Guildford quickly made it 3-0 courtesy of Will Heavey’s first goal for the club. Cashen Henry nearly pulled one back for the Kent side, but City completed the rout with an opportunistic goal from Dan Moody and an easy finish for Joel Greaves.
