This playing of the Hog’s Back Derby was Guildford City’s first foray into the Southern Combination Challenge Cup. After suffering the chastening experience of relegation last season, Farnham Town have opened this campaign in Division One in sparkling form, topping the division with eight wins from 11 matches. The away side took a one goal lead into the break after a confident and aggressive first 45 minutes but in the second half Chris Balchin’s side regained their confidence and came from behind to win the game 2-1.
