Guildford City 1 – 2 Wembley

Guildford City succumbed to their second league defeat of the season after a disappointing afternoon against Wembley. Jaydon Gibbs’ third minute strike, sprinting through to net past Pearce, was the only highlight of a frustrating match for City. Adrian Dinham’s superb strike on 22 minutes levelled the scores, as Wembley had the league leaders on the back foot for long sections of the first half. Lee Pearce in the Wembley goal thwarted City with a string of reflex saves – despite picking up an injury. The visitors secured three points when, after a scramble on the edge of the penalty area, Dean Linton picked the ball up to fire home past Hall. Guildford City huffed and puffed but could not manage an equaliser.
