From our Charity Partner The Halow Project

HALOW_logo versionPrior to the clubs presentation night we recieved an email from our charity partner for the last season, apologising that they could not make the event, as recovering from a 250 mile cycle ride & a bout of unwellness prevented them. It has been a great season working with the halow project, & we hope that our relationship will continue for the foreseeable.

I hope that you are all as delighted as we are, to have begun this partnership as we see enormous benefits to it.
1) Opportunities for young people – firstly the club has very generously allowed our young people to have special days when they are invited as a group to attend games and also to allow young people to access free season tickets so they can attend independently. Opportunities for young people to get invited to and get involved in the home matches, to feel welcomed and known at the games and begin to feel part of your community is truly a big deal for them – so for that we thank you.
2) Opportunities for the charity – secondly to connect with your fan base, sponsors and wider audience to raise awareness of the work we do, the issues our young people face and introduce new young people to our work and new supporters is invaluable to us as a young charity supporting local young people and families.
3) Opportunities to raise funds for our work – thirdly but by absolutely no means least, our partnership has raised a significant amount of funds for halow project. Through your special days, gate collections, Queen tribute night at the social club and Pay what you want days – the GCFC has raised almost £900 for halow! This is not an insignificant amount and for example would pay for a group trip during the summer. This could be to a theme park, sporting event or similar out of Surrey – away from home for the day – which you will recognise for a group of our young people takes much organising and travel, staff and volunteers in place. A group trip like this is only made possible by our team working with support and funding from people like you!

We are very much looking forward to continuing to work with everyone at the club – congratulations on recent results! We are proud to be part of the wider GCFC family and we very much hope you have enjoyed being a part of the halow family too.

Here’s wishing you all a brilliant evening’s celebration and thanking you all for your amazing hospitality, generosity and friendship throughout the season.

With our very best wishes,
Ann
