Dave Powell joins as Assistant Manager

Assistant Manager: Guildford City Football Club would like to announce that Dave Powell has been appointed as Assistant Manager, replacing Neil Grant who departed the club last weekend. Powell was originally assistant to Dan Snare at Ripley FC, and moved with him in the same role to Westfield for a two year period until March 2016. Powell then returned to Ripley FC from where he joins Guildford City. He therefore comes to the club with a wealth of knowledge on the local footballing scene. Manager Chris Balchin said “I am so happy that Dave has agreed to come on board. Dave is someone I trust and is a fantastic coach, and I am looking forward to working with him. I would also like to thank Neil Grant for all of his efforts in the early stages of this season, and I wish him all the best.

Darryl Siaw: Guildford City’s longest serving player Darry Siaw has today (Friday) left the club signing for Three Bridges FC. Darryl was a popular member of the playing squad, and we wish him well at his new club.

Surrey Senior Cup Tomorrow: We embark tomorrow (Saturday) on our Surrey Cup journey which saw us last season reach the semi-final stage where we faced Woking. Tomorrow we host Colliers Wood United at the Spectrum, kick-off 3pm.  Admission is £7 for adults, £4 concessions and £1 for juniors. Students with an NUS card qualify for £4 admission. Please note that it is all-pay at the turnstile and season tickets are not valid for cup matches. If the score is level after 90 minutes there will be a penalty shoot-out. Support for your local side is welcome. There is a licensed bar and a refreshment point selling hot food and drinks. There is plenty of free parking.
