Cobham 0 Guildford City 2: Post Match Interview

Coming off the back of two defeats City travelled to Cobham as Chris Balchin and the team looked to get back to winning ways.  The match saw the powerful midfield pairing of Theo Woodhouse and Daniel Band return, as well as a tactical shift from 4-4-2 to 4-3-3 with Bobby Webbe pushed up to the number 10 position behind City top scorer Kyen Nicholas. With the home pitch in brilliant condition, Balchin’s side could play the quick passing football that the travelling Sweeney have grown accustomed to.

It didn’t take long before the fans were celebrating when in the 8th minute a Bobby Webbe free kick from 35 yards rocketed past the Cobham keeper into the back of the net. City continued to push for a second with Dan Band, Bobby Webbe and Eli Ogunseye firing powerful shots at the keeper. In the 22nd minute Eli Ogunseye was set loose down the right and with his lightning pace, the winger cut inside and his deflected shot was picked up by Kyen Nicholas who calmly placed the ball into the corner of the net. City continued to attack throughout the rest of the match but couldn’t add to their goal tally.
