In advance of the new football season Guildford City Football Club are pleased to welcome Benson Miyoba to the first team coaching staff.
Benson joins the club as Physical and Psychological Coach. He recently completed his PFSA Level 3 in Player, Team and Opposition Analysis. Benson first coached in the USA before returning to the UK where he played over 300 matches, including for Heybridge Swifts, Chelmsford City, Burnham Ramblers and AP Leamington.
Professionally Benson has over 20 year’s experience of working on the physical and mental conditioning of sports people, high pressured executives, and busy parents. He is the proud founder of The Fitness Garden CIC. A non-for-profit organisation that supports communities through health, fitness, and mental wellbeing.
Guildford City FC First Team Manager, Paul Barnes, expressed his delight with our new member of staff joining his team. He said “I believe we are showing a real understanding of how the modern-day game, coaching, player development and performance is evolving. To be able to bring Benson on board with his track record within the fitness industry is one thing, to be able to couple that with a successful mindset / psychological performance expert who also has great experience within the game, it’s an almost perfect mix. In my opinion the game needs more specialist coaches to offer such expertise to players and environments, so being able to implement a Physical & Psychological Performance Coach within our club and staff, once again demonstrates the professionalism we are striving for at Guildford City FC. Benson will not just add immeasurable value to our first team environment, but also provide another level of detail for the entire club to tap into”.
We will return to action on Saturday the 10th of April as we host Walton & Hersham in the third round of the FA Vase. This game will be played behind closed doors.
