Thankfully we received the nod that this game was able to be played despite the fears about the heavy overnight frost. In fact Camberley’s pitch was looking very good indeed all things considered.Camberley looked well up for this game from the first whistle, however it was City who drew first blood with their first shot on target after only ten minutes. Joel Greaves linked up well with his strike partner and Ben Camara was able to drill the ball home into the corner of the net from 15 yards.
On 25 minutes Camberley’s Michael Smith received his marching orders with a straight red after a late challenge deemed dangerous by the referee.
However as is often the case the side down to ten men upped their work rate and continued to give City a good game. Antony Hall had a busy second half without having to pull off any “worldies”, the game flowing from one end to the other.
It was Guildford City who snatched the all important second goal of the game though when a melee in the Camberley 6 yard box was stabbed home by Joel Greaves to keep the sides unbeaten league record going.
