Following his arrival at the club this week new Guildford City manager Paul Barnes has now named his support team.
Daniel Gill joins City as assistant manager: a role that he also filled under Paul at Staines Town and Greenwich Borough. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience within the game having worked across all levels of the game. Daniel currently holds the UEFA A licence and FA Advanced Youth Award (AYA). He will look to assist the manager with the implantation of the club’s philosophy and playing style by bringing a modern approach to training, whilst also supporting individual player development.
James Lewis joins the club as first team coach. James holds a UEFA B licence and has worked for 15 years in Football Academy’s and Football Education settings. At club level James has worked with Paul at Greenwich Borough and Staines Town.
Tristan Rees was assistant manager in the previous management and continues in the management team as an assistant coach. He has been caretaker manager pending Paul’s arrival. Tristan has management experience with local step 7 side Merrow, and also played for Godalming Town. He is Guildford based and has a good knowledge of the local football scene.
Oliver Pratt comes on board as performance analyst. Olly played for Burton Albion at youth level before moving to the USA on a four-year football scholarship eventually graduating with a degree in sports and exercise science. Olly has been working at Staines Town providing video performance analysis support to coaches and players alike. He also has data analysis and scouting qualifications.
Metan Ramadan is the athletic performance coach who will prepare and improve player’s strength and conditioning in conjunction with the rest of the coaching team.
Tiffany Weedon also remains from the previous management set up and will be Sports Therapist. Tiff is a qualified physiotherapist and is an experienced matchday therapist having also worked at Walton & Hersham and Westfield FC.
We very warmly welcome all members of the team – old and new – to a bright future at Guildford City FC.
