City prepare to face first test of pre-season

City prepare to face first test of pre-season this Tuesday!

The third week of pre-season training has drawn to a close and City will tomorrow embark upon the first of seven pre-season fixtures. Last Tuesday’s training took place in pouring rain, whilst Thursday’s training noticeably saw the group of new players starting to blend with those core left from last season. Manager Chris Balchin and assistant Neil Grant have very nearly finalised their squad for the new season. In addition to those already signed the experienced duo of Mark Watkins and Josh Coke were added to the squad early in the week. Both players hail from Guildford but will be playing for their home town club for the first time; Watkins having played for Fleet Town and Godalming Town, and Coke joining us from Knaphill. Former City Player of the Year Matt Anton was added to the squad on Thursday, along with former Merrow midfielder Jamie Kitching and former fans favourite Nathaniel Williams.

On Tuesday 4 July we play our first friendly when we meet Woodley United at the Wavell Pavilion 3G pitch, Queens Avenue, Aldershot GU11 2TD. Kick-off is 7.15pm and spectators are welcome. The entrance to the pitch is situated next to the Army Rugby Stadium.

Good news also that the deadline for Early Bird Season Tickets has been extended for one more week until 8 July. Buying a season ticket now before the deadline saves £’s. Carnet season tickets so that you can attend any ten matches of your choice are especially popular at £56.
