Guildford City ‘Roadshow’ returns

As you move about the Guildford area over what we hope will be a balmy summer you should keep your eyes peeled for the “Guildford City Roadshow” is at large.   Indeed the Roadshow made its first appearance of the summer at the Guildford Lions May Day Fayre at Shalford Park on Bank Holiday Monday. The usual Outreach team of Alan Wyle, Dennis May, Brian Holt and Ray Langrish were present and correct, and they spent much of the day promoting the club, and fielding questions about the club’s famous past. The first entertainment of the day for fellow stall holders and early arrivals was watching our foursome trying to assemble the club’s new gazebo!  Finally amongst the apparent carnage order was restored and the humour subsided when it was realised that our intrepid crew were actually reading the wrong set of instructions and progress was finally made!

A good afternoon was had by all and the team were able to talk about Guildford City Football Club to a large number of interested persons.  If you weren’t able to make the May Day Fayre, our “Roadshow” will be present at Compton Fete on Saturday 14 May between 12 – 4pm, and at Shamley Green Fete on Saturday 11 June between 12 – 3pm.  Please watch out for other dates and of course we will still be present at the Guildford Farmers’ Market on the first Tuesday of every month.
