Once more Guildford City FC reacquaint themselves with the “joys” of the M4 corridor, tomorrow we travel the full length of the M4 and across the River Severn into the land of the celts, to play Merthyr Town.
We hope that there will be a “Welcome In The Hillsides” & “in the Vales.” (to paraphrase Harry Secombe) for the City Players & Fans that are making the journey there, and also that there will be smiles on their faces on the journey homewards.
Having been narrowly defeated 2-3 in the home fixture, Guildford City are looking forward to a reverse at the E-Cig Stadium, fielding a team that has been strengthened in a number of key areas since the last meeting.
Transport is laid on for players & fans, and will consist of three 9 seater minibuses leaving the Guildford Spectrum at 0945hrs. Your pilots for the trip will be cruising at an altitude of 2 feet & 70ish miles an hour. Fingers crossed that the away-day jinx stays away. Although in all of the away matches so far this season we seem to have avoided vehicle related jinxes, so far, touch wood.
We also take this opportunity to thank Methold Vehicle Hire for the minibuses.
Keep your eyes open for the match report which will be posted here shortly after the match.
