Statement from Guildford City Football Club

Guildford City Football Club regrets to announce that Kevin Rayner has resigned his post as Team Manager. As a club we have always been aware that his success at Guildford would make him an attractive proposition to other ambitious clubs, and for reasons not football related, Kevin now feels that this is the best time to move on.

Kevin’s tenure as manager has seen the club rise from the relegation places in the Combined Counties League to this season’s ninth place finish in the Southern League Division One. The Club’s fortunes on and off the field have improved immeasurably during this period, and every body connected to Guildford City Football Club will be forever grateful for his efforts. We of course wish Kevin all good fortune in his future ventures.

The Club Committee will be assessing the situation which had not been planned, and will make further announcements in due course. In addition a full appreciation of Kevin’s Guildford City career will appear on the club website shortly.
