Rivers returns but City can’t hold on to Holder

Guildford-City-Sean-RiversGuildford City is pleased to announce the signing of 26 year old striker Sean Rivers, who briefly played for City in 2009, and made his second début for the club on Saturday when he entered the field as a 65th minute substitute. Sean, who scored 13 goals from 18 appearances in his previous spell at the club, leads the line well and has the ability to hold the ball up. A renowned specialist from the penalty spot, his other clubs include Dulwich Hamlet, Chipstead, Merstham, Erith & Belvedere, Whyteleafe, Croydon Athletic and Croydon.

One player also departed the club last week. Corey Holder has left the club to link up again with his close friend Austin Gacheru at Chatham Town. Corey originally joined Guildford from Raynes Park Vale in March 2010, and made 70 appearances for the club, scoring three goals. We wish both Corey and Austin good fortune in their future careers.
