The Faroese football season begins this month with our partner club Havnar Bóltfelag hoping to improve on a poor showing last year. They kick off at home to B68 Toftir at the end of March with new boys FC Suðuroy after that. The Faroe Islands season runs from March to October, avoiding the late autumn and winter weather that causes problems on the islands – despite all the club pitches being artificial.
In Germany, our friends Freiburger are still chasing promotion and are three points behind current league leaders SC Wyhl. Having restarted their season this weekend following a winter break, FFC will be hoping to continue their excellent form which has seen them unbeaten since October (although that loss was to SC Wyhl!). They have picked up seven victories in their last eight games.
